🏡Claiming Lands (Protecting Lands)
How to Claim Land on Arcane SMP
What are "Claim Blocks"?
Think of claim blocks as your personal property currency. Every block you protect uses up one claim block.
Starting Blocks: Every new player starts with a nice bundle of claim blocks to protect their first base.
Earning More: The best part is that you earn more claim blocks automatically, just by being active and playing on the server! For every hour you play, you'll be granted more blocks to expand your existing claims or create new ones.
Lets Get Started Now!
The Golden Shovel: Your Land Claiming Tool
Your primary tool for managing land is the Golden Shovel. You might receive one when you first join, but don't worry if you lose it! You can craft a new one at any time, and it will work just the same.
How to Create Your First Claim (Visual Guide)
Claiming land is as simple as defining a rectangle with your golden shovel.
Choose Your Corners: Go to one corner of the area you want to protect. While holding your golden shovel, right-click on the corner block.
A diamond block will temporarily appear, and you'll see a message in chat: "Claim corner set. Right-click the opposite corner to create your claim."
Mark the Opposite Corner: Walk to the diagonally opposite corner of the area you want to claim. Right-click that corner block with the golden shovel still in your hand.
Success! Gold blocks and glowstone will briefly appear, showing you the boundaries of your new claim. All the land inside these boundaries, from the sky to bedrock, is now protected.
Visual Example: Imagine you want to claim this rectangle. You would right-click Corner A, then walk over and right-click Corner B.

Managing Your Claim
You have full control over your land. Here are the most important commands:
Check Your Boundaries: Right-click inside your claim with a Stick. This will show you the glowstone borders again, so you always know where your claim ends.
Resize a Claim: Hold your golden shovel and right-click one of the corners of your existing claim. You can then right-click a new spot to move that corner, easily expanding or shrinking your protected area.
Abandon a Claim: Stand inside the claim you want to delete and type
/AbandonClaim
. If you have many claims and want to delete them all, use/AbandonAllClaims
. Use these with caution!
Trusting Your Friends: How to Grant Permissions
Want to build with friends? You need to "trust" them on your claim. There are different levels of trust, so be careful who you give permissions to!
While standing in your claim, use these commands:
/AccessTrust [PlayerName]
What it does: This is the lowest level of trust. It allows a player to use your buttons, levers, and beds. They cannot open your chests or break/place blocks.
Perfect for: Letting a friend use a door or sleep in your base without giving them access to your items.
/ContainerTrust [PlayerName]
What it does: The most common trust level. It gives a player
/AccessTrust
permissions PLUS the ability to open your chests, furnaces, brewing stands, and interact with your animals. They still cannot break or place blocks.Perfect for: Roommates or teammates who you want to share resources with.
/Trust [PlayerName]
What it does: This gives a player full builder permissions. They can break blocks, place blocks, and have all the lower-level trust permissions.
Perfect for: People you are building a large project with and trust completely.
/PermissionTrust [PlayerName]
WARNING: Give this permission with EXTREME caution. This allows a player to manage the claim as if they were you, including the ability to trust other players.
Perfect for: Only the co-owner of your base or the leader of your town.
Managing Permissions:
To remove a player's access, use
/UnTrust [PlayerName]
.To see who has permissions in your claim, use
/TrustList
.
